Witness Tampering and Mortgage Fraud led to conviction of investor

Judy Yeung, also known as Miu Wan Yeung, was convicted on January 28th by a federal jury in San Francisco, California for conspiracy to commit wire fraud, eight counts of wire fraud and three counts of witness tampering.

Ms. Yeung, age 58, a San Francisco real estate investor and self proclaimed “Honorable Lady of San Francisco” is accused of a mortgage fraud scheme that cost approximately six million five hundred thousand dollars.

Ms. Yeung who lived in San Francisco but is currently living in Mountain View allegedly recruited five individuals to act as straw buyers in the purchase of two properties located in Gilroy. She again recruited straw buyers for the resale of the two properties and for the refinance of her home in Balboa Terrace.

Ms. Yeung yielded six hundred twenty four thousand dollars from the fraudulent transactions that transpired in 2004 and 2007.

Two straw buyers identified in the case were instructed by Ms. Yeung to lie to Federal Bureau of Investigation investigators. She has been convicted on three counts of witness tampering.

Ms. Yeung is scheduled to appear before United States District Judge Susan Illston on May 14th.
